Reiki

Using the universal life force energy to bring healing,  restore balance and promote harmony within the mind, body and soul.

Reiki is a Japanese healing practice based on the belief that life force energy flows through all living things. When life feels overwhelming, we can sometimes feel disconnected, drained or out of balance.

Reiki offers a peaceful space to slow down, release the pressures of everyday life and reconnect with yourself. It's a gentle experience that invites you to rest, recharge and restore a sense of harmony within.

What is Reiki & how can it help?

Reiki originated in Japan in the early 20th century and was developed by Mikao Usui, a Japanese spiritual teacher. In 1922, following a period of meditation and spiritual practice on Mount Kurama near Kyoto, Usui began teaching the healing method that would become known as Usui Reiki.

The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words: Rei, often interpreted as universal or spiritual, and Ki, meaning life energy.

Usui believed that Reiki could support not only physical and emotional wellbeing but also personal and spiritual growth. His teachings emphasised kindness, gratitude, mindfulness and living peacefully in the present moment.

Over time, Reiki spread beyond Japan and is now practised around the world as a gentle complementary therapy, offering people a peaceful space for relaxation, reflection and self-care.

Reiki  It involves the practitioner placing their hands lightly on or just above different areas of the body, with the intention of encouraging relaxation and supporting the body's natural sense of balance.

Reiki may help you feel calmer, ease feelings of stress and tension, encourage emotional wellbeing and provide a peaceful space to unwind. Many people choose Reiki when they're feeling overwhelmed, emotionally drained or simply in need of some time for themselves.

During a session, you'll lie comfortably, fully clothed, while I gently work through different areas of the body using light touch or hands held just above you. There's nothing you need to do except relax. Some people notice warmth, tingling or a sense of heaviness, while others simply feel deeply peaceful. Every experience is different, and there's no right or wrong way to feel.

Reiki is rooted in spiritual traditions, and  many people value it as a soothing, restorative experience that supports relaxation and self-care.
